I've Been To Memali

The story goes that Musa Hitam was drunk that night he gave the order and Mahathir removed him because he almost lost Kedah to Fadzil Noor.

Can any kutom seniors confirm this?

    I vaguely remember this event. I remember that police wanted to arrest a popular PAS named Ibrahim Libya, his supporters and the orang kampung tried to prevent the police from arresting him. Ended with a full scale battle between police and parang wielding orang kampung. Why the massive show of force by the police boggles me.

    Heard that Mahathir was abroad and left Musa in charge of the operations.
